Aim High Advising uses a tried and true 5-step process to take your student from the college unknown to a college acceptance letter.

Hello, my name is Janel Renee. I have a Master of Education degree in School Counseling and have worked in public education for 27 years. As a high school counselor, I have helped thousands of students with their college pursuit and I am eager to continue this process with you! I have a fun, effective communication style that works great with teenagers. I am passionate about working with students and parents who feel lost in this process or just need an extra boost to complete it.

The 5-Step Process

Step 1

Identify Degree Plan

Take a quiz to find careers that match your skills, interests & personality. Research and filter those careers to narrow down the best choice(s).

Step 2

Develop College List

Use a college finder tool to create a realistic college list that matches your degree, transcript data and preferences.

Step 3

Resume & Essay Writing

Create an eye catching resume and solid essay that attracts the eye of admissions personnel.

Step 4

Submit Applications

Complete, review and submit applications. Walk through next steps after accepted.

Step 5

Financial Aid

How much money do you need for college? Complete FAFSA and identify scholarships available.

All pricing comes with a FREE initial consultation. See information below.
One Step at a Time – $200/step
This option is for students who only need help with one or two steps in the 5-step process. Your student and I will meet either in person or virtually for a maximum of two hours per step. Please see the 5-step process on this website to determine which steps are needed.
All 5 Steps – $900
This option is for parents who want their students to understand and complete the entire 5-step process of being accepted into a university of their choice. These five sessions will be a maximum of two hours per step, either in person or virtually. Allow a minimum of five weeks to complete all five steps.
* I am not a licensed therapist and do not give therapeutic or mental health advice.
*Any student/parent who fails to show up and has not contacted me to reschedule at least 8 hours before their appointment, will be considered a no-show and charged a $50.00 fee.

FREE initial phone consultation

A 20-minute complimentary virtual consultation helps me learn more about you and your student in the context of their family background, experiences, needs, and goals. Aim High Advising uses these insights to help tailor services to your student’s aspirations and to give them the best shot at acceptance.

Submit the form at the bottom of this website to be contacted and set up for your FREE initial phone consultation at a time when your student is available. After your consultation, you will make your appointment(s), make payment, and begin the one-on-one personalized support until your application is submitted!
